On Sewing My Own Clothes:
I believe that sewing is a basic skill everyone should learn because it enables one to mend their clothing for small fixes, tailor their clothing, and overall make their own clothes to reflect their personality. My favorite thing to make are pants but I also enjoy making little gifts for my friends!

On Costuming:
My grandma taught me to first sew when I was 10 and had to make a colonial girl dress for my elementary school's Jamestown day. I really got into costuming in High School, where I worked on a variety of shows and mended and altered costumes, but I did not really start sewing costumes until Senior year of high school for A Christmas Carol and Cinderella. Then at Dickinson College, I began working in the Costume shop where I manufactured costumes for a variety of shows. My favorite memory was being the costume manager for Irma Vep, which had over 45 costume changes between two men!

On Mask Making
Between March 2020-Janurary 2021, I made over 450 reusable fabric masks and 50 ear-saver headbands due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I then gave them pro bono to those in my community, including my local food pantry.
